The book consists of a brief digression into the history of the Greater Washington Ukrainian community, as well as materials on existing Ukrainian and Ukrainian American institutions and organizations, collected by the compiler from books, newspapers, magazines, and internet sources.
The book is intended for everyone who is interested in the Ukrainian community in the U.S. capital and its suburbs.

Preface
All the time while living in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. for a quarter of a century, I was thinking about publishing such a book. I have Ukrainian Washington page on Facebook managed in Ukrainian. There was time when a domain UkrainianWashington.com was registered for a website, but never was filled with content. It’s possible that we go back with this idea to launch that website. Mean-while basic information about Ukrainian institutions and organizations in the Greater Washington, D.C. area is available on my business website UkrainaInc.com. Now, I am coming out with a book.
Please, be advised that it is not based on original scientific or local history studies; such a research is still awaiting for its enthusiasts. This is a compilation of various sources of information that to some extent reveal the life and work of the Ukrainian community in the Greater Washington, D.C. area and their institutions and organizations – books, periodicals, and, of course, internet resources. That is why I position myself here not as an author, but as a compiler and editor.
I provide footnotes or links to most of the sources from which the information is borrowed and following which a reader of this book will find more information, as well as contacts (addresses, telephone numbers, e-mails and even contact names) of the Ukrainian institutions and organizations in the Greater Washington, D.C.
This is not a commercial publication. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the development of non-profit research and public projects supported by Ukraina, Inc.
Finally, I would like to thank all those who inspired me to work on this publication and supported the implementation of this long-planned project.
